Description
Introduced to Italy by the Greeks in the 6th century B.C., Aglianico enjoyed an early heyday in the ancient world as one of the key components of Falernum, a wine revered by kings and poets. In the 19th century, after nearly being wiped out by Phylloxera , the grape is now experiencing a great revival in southern Italy.
Vinified in a forward, drinking style with lively flavorful fruit with a deep plummy color with big tannins and firm structure. On the palate the grape offers typical notes of black fruits, smoke, dark chocolate, and mineral. #les-sommeliers
